The Isle of Man, 1942

Manx born and bred, Bridget Quayle loves the island and knows every inch of it like the back of her hand. But that doesn't mean she wants to be there now, as World War II rages around the world.

As a newly trained police officer, living in the vibrant and bustling city of London, she had it all. A budding career, celebrity status as one of only a few female officers, and a busy social life. Then World War II strengthened its grip and she found herself posted back to the island - a stark contrast to the exciting streets of the capital.

But, tasked with managing Rushen Camp, a women's internment camp for Germans, Nazi sympathisers, fascists, IRA activists, Jews and conscientious objectors, she realises that the war can be just as dangerous on an island in the middle of the Irish Sea as in the centre of a big city. When the arrival of two women claiming to be Austrian Jews arouses Bridget's suspicions, she finds herself tested beyond anything she was taught in her training. Dear Ms Mann, I've just finished listening to all 4 books. The 1st three I had listened to a number of times while I waited for Bridget's war to come available, so when it did, I listened to it straight away & enjoyed it just as much. Just to show you how much I've enjoyed them, I've just listened to Hannah's war yet again. At the end, I clicked on your name to see if you had any other titles that I could listen to & found there is one. Unfortunately I wasn't able to pre-order it so I've put it on my wish list.

There is another war time story you may like to write & that is about someone who was a lookout for fire's in the fire service, & I would love you to actually use my mother's name (Peggy Lockey) as that is what she did during the 2nd World War then eventually married my father who was a Lancaster pilot. They used to live fairly close to each other & may have gone to the same school at one point. After the war, dad eventually became an airline pilot & mum because a teacher & before she retired was a headmistress of a JMI school.

terrible narrator. founded as though a Sunday school leader was talking to children. Spoilt whole story

The accent of the reader was very strong and I found it irritating.
