'A delicious read' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ READER REVIEW

London, 1946. Gabriel Book is an erudite and unconventional London bookseller married to Trottie, the owner of the wallpaper shop next door. He is also a sleuth who uses the chaotic riches of his stock to crack the puzzling cases that come his way.

He does not work alone. Book's shop is a magnet for waifs and strays - some of whom bring mysteries of their own to his door. There's Nora, sometime bookseller and true crime enthusiast; Dog, connoisseur of ginger biscuits and then Jack, whose arrival at the shop forces Book to confront a loose end from his own past.

Clever, endearing and entertaining, Bookish is a warm-hearted and unexpected mystery, about books, murder and the secrets we all keep.©2025 Eagle Eye Drama Limited 20th Century Crime Fiction Genre Fiction Historical Historical Fiction Movie, TV & Video Game Tie-Ins Mystery Samimi

Lovely narration from Mark Gatiss he drew you in to each character beautifully. Love the story but having just watched this on tv I was hoping for more depth from the book but it’s very close to what you see on screen. Looking forward to the next adventure of Mr Book.

This is a work of genius. It is quite simply faultless and will live long in the memory. A classic.

I was recommended to watch the TV series but I don't have Sky - so I did the audible book. Loved it! will definitely hope this comes over onto Netflix or Amazon Prime in time!
But the Audible book leaves nothing to desire. I'm curious as to how this story translated to the screen but I really related to it as a book!

Just loved this "book" Fabulous characters. Fabulous who-done-it story's. Powerful backstory.

Sit back and relax, let Mark Gatiss take you to an era of fear, hope and the genuine fear of being yourself. All the tales told with a gentle tone,Book listens and understands, better than people think....I really enjoyed Bookish
