Orson and his friends are heading for an epic magical showdown, and not everyone will make it out alive.

The millennia-old Paragon Society is on the brink of destruction. The heart of its power has been reduced to rubble, most of the leadership killed, and Marcus, the blood-mage, is once again on the loose, wreaking havoc.

It feels like the bad guys are winning.

All hope is not lost. Heidi Aldridge, a reformed blood-mage, may hold the key to unraveling the genetic code that is the very foundation of magic.

And deep in the forests of the Rocky Mountains, an ancient evil, long thought eradicated, is stirring. Will its connection to the origins of the Ollphiest shatter everything Orson has come to believe in and trust?

The characters are fun and well-written. Their banter and adventures are good too. Enjoy every bit of the story although it felt like it was cut short but I prefer this to dragging the story on.

Lovable characters and enjoyable story

i like it, but I must say that it left a lot of things unexplained. I assume that there's going to be another book at some point. But overall. it was pretty good.
