The vampires have been vanquished! Harry Keogh and the armies of the dead have destroyed the evil that once plagued the world. Nathan and Nestor, secret twin sons of the Necroscope and a proud gypsy woman, were children when their father, his humanity poisoned by his fearsome struggles, sacrificed himself to save mankind.

Yet there are vampires still, vampires crueler and stranger than any the Necroscope had faced.

When these new, merciless killers swoop out of the sky, Nathan and Nestor are men - but they have few of Harry Keogh's miraculous powers.

Torn from each other by battle, the sons of the Necroscope journey across the vampire world, exploring its mysteries, each seeking the powerful, terrible vampires, his missing brother...and the woman they both love!

Once one gets past the logical problems involved in the Necroscope having blood offspring (if you've read the preceding books in the series, you may know what I mean), Blood Brothers is an enjoyable first installment in a new epic. There's a lot of world building that pays off in the later books, and the wide scope of Vampire World is impressive.

I really like this series and can't wait for the rest to be made available.

If you have read the other books to get to here you will like the story. I found the sound effects to distinguish Dead Speak difficult to understand however.

Good but difficult sound effects

First in a trilogy continuing the necroscope. not harry this time. but his son continues in his footsteps. it's great to know the correct pronunciation of names and places.

This trilogy is in my opinion even better than the original series of books.

I have 2 complaints though. the necroscope series and vampire world series seem to be heavily edited. parts I clearly remember are left out. second complaint is one of the sound effects of the character eygor kill glance. his voice is echoed and gutters. which in my experience anyway, made the spoken lines very hard to understand. other than those 2 points. a great storyline to read or listen to.

I would recommend doing both. Read and listen.

yet another great story from Brian Lumley
