I read the Jack caffery series years ago and loved it. Colin Mace has brought it to life more than my imagination could ever do. Brilliantly written by Mo hayder, superbly narrated by Colin Mace. Do not hesitate to purchase. I excitedly look forward to book 2 .

WOW Brilliant

it was very graphic but somehow after a while but didn't seem too inappropriate. It did make me wonder initially if it would spoil the book but I absolutely loved it. Before listening I also wondered if it might be too long when I saw the duration but again that wasn't a problem. You couldn't be entirely sure what the ending might be until it came which made sure the suspense was maintained. The characters seemed credible and the plot development was good and well-paced. and Colin Mace was as ever a tour-de-force. I've already bought the next one.

I read this book so many years ago but completely forgot what had happened. so glad I got it on Audible, I was gripped and made sure I listened as often as I could, I needed to know what happened (again).

Gripping Story

i have been looking for a new series to binge on and this is it.

Horrific and brutal in part, but I knew that before I listened. None of the despicable and abhorrent details of what humans are capable of doing to others, are written gratuitously or simply for the shock value.

Jack our ML is someone who has lived with trauma and grief his whole life. His story is written in such a way that makes you feel compassion towards him. I quickly became invested in him and in the story.

This is one of those books you can't put down, but also don't want to end. Its heart wrenching and bold. The story never dips in pace, just goes from one pulse revving situation to the next with fluidity.

Ive already lined up book 2 and by the reviews ive seen, is going to be as good as this or maybe even better?

Author, Narrator and Story, are completely in sync which is why I wish I had more stars to give xx

a proper dark story with lots of twists to keep you engaged. really enjoyed this!
