During the longest night, will you sink into the darkness or call upon your light?

Emmeline has experienced more heartache and sorrow than any one person should. Though she now has immeasurable divinity granted by the gods, her new status came at a price she never would have paid.

Haunted by the events of the Cascade and the horrifying acts she bore witness to, Emmeline must work alongside people she never expected to undo the atrocities committed on that dreadful day—starting with what was done to her daughter. With the help of trusted friends and new allies, she must learn to harness and control her powers, live with guilt and grief in the face of her decisions, and work to save the one man who never gave up on her.

Will her love be enough to bring back those she loves—not only physically, but mentally, as well?

Between Despair and Hope contains mature content.

Absolutely brilliant 👏 . I couldn't stop listening. I can't wait until the next 3 book.

Absolutely ❤️ amazing 👏 😍

I enjoyed this story, however although I appreciated the character building, I got slightly bored of the incessant overthinking, and wanted more story and less rumination.
I also struggled with the reading speeds on this book, because for some reason the main narrator was speaking so slowly, I had to speed her up to sound normal, yet the others sounded ridiculously fast on the same speed, so I had to keep switching speeds every time they changed, which was pretty frustrating. For these 2 reasons I’m not going to buy book 3.

Couple of issues, but a decent story line

performance: Although only two are credited, there is a cast, and they did an amazing job. I don't usually write reviews but had to give credit where it is due.

story: was a little slow at times but great character progression for the others from book one and quite an addictive listen.

overall: Another cliffhanger, and I find myself more peeved than I should be with no release date for book 3! excellent narration from all.

plot, characters, world building, etc. are on point. multiple POV with different actors really brought the entire thing to life.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Don't hesitate!
