Desperate to escape a family who will never accept him, a queer runaway in police custody borrows the identity of a boy who vanished years ago: Nate Beaumont. But when Nate's family come to take him home, he's trapped in a web of lies.

Then he meets Miles - the cute, clever and true-crime obsessed boy next door - who knows more than it seems. Unexpectedly, Miles agrees to help, in exchange for uncovering the truth about what happened years ago to his childhood best friend. As their investigation turns dangerous, their feelings turn real.

Time is running out.
They don't know who to trust.
And someone is watching who wants to keep this case cold.

Will they find the missing boy . . . or will they find each other?

Honestly, it’s been so long since a booked gripped me as completely as this one did. The central mystery while also the moral complexity of wanting good things for the central character but also falling in love with the grieving family and knowing he’s lying to them. The twists and turns; the pacing of reveals is great. Just everything. I miss it already.

I was gripped!

Okay so I thought I had this figured out. I was fully convinced I already knew the ending about an hour in, wow was I wrong!! I won’t spoil anything here of course but when I found out I was wrong there was still so much book left to go! This was one of the most, if not the most, interesting and intriguing book I’ve ever read/ heard and the performance was spectacular!! One reader but all the characters felt like different people, all the emotions felt real and raw, A fantastic performance to say the least. Definitely recommend!
