Becoming a Barbarian won't teach you how to swing a battle axe or crush your enemies (so that you can see them driven before you and then hear the lamentation of their women).

Becoming a Barbarian is a follow-up to Donovan's cult hit, The Way of Men. Good, modern, civilized Western men today are expected to think like "citizens of the world" - obligated to everyone and no one. Natural, meaningful tribal connections have been substituted with synthetic, disposable consumer identities. Without a sense of who they are and what group they have a place in, modern men are becoming increasingly detached, disoriented, vulnerable, and ever more easily manipulated.

Becoming a Barbarian attacks the emasculated emptiness of life in the modern West and shows men how to think tribally again. It reveals the weaknesses of universalistic thinking, and challenges listeners to become the kind of men who could go all-in and devote their lives to one group of people above all others.

Becoming a Barbarian is about finding a tribe, finding a purpose, and choosing to live the kind of life that undermines the narrative of the Empire.

It was hilarious 😂 at times. Its a very crass but obvious look at life.

Great listen

A wake up call to action for any man who feels that there is no role for him in modern life.

In book 1 Jack Donovan concludes that no man will be worse off for joining a "Gang" or a "Tribe" (the more masculine and the more local in our ever digitised World, the better)

In this book he delves into the dark powers he calls "The empire of nothing" which is desperate to make sure you do not.

Wars are only fought against those who resist the new Globalist empire, and anyone who doesn't subscribe to many of the neo-marxist theories the empire pushes is to be labelled a "Sexist, racist, xenophobe etc etc blah blah blah" and be treated as a non-conformist outcast.

You are to be a good little boy, who does as he is told, questions nothing and as an absolute maximum MUST consume, consume, consume (while giving everything you have worked hard for to those who have done nothing to earn it themselves)

To go against this is to be a "Modern Barbarian" and that is what Donovan's book is advising you do, both for your sanity and indeed your integrity.

Good book. Short and sharp, with some very interesting concepts that go hugely against the mainstream narrative.

enjoyed this book. Challenged my ideas and redirected my way of thinking. Very highly recommended

Great book.

A search for the borders of what is and isn't acceptable in society today. Likely to draw "black sheep" or "sigma" types. Pick a lane and stick to it basically. Sláinte/Skol from a wannabe Celt!

Heavy.
