They call me "The Beast" for a reason.

Locked away in my cold, dark mansion overlooking the treacherous cliffs that haunt me, I want for nothing...except her. The moment she set foot in my lair, her fate was sealed. I will claim her, make her mine....

I'll be her daddy.

Annabelle:

He can buy anything he wants. He wants me.

He's a wealthy, domineering recluse; I'm dirt poor. He's accomplished and sophisticated; I'm a 20-year-old virgin. But I can't say no.

To get closer to him, I will sacrifice everything - my freedom, my heart...my innocence. The attraction between us leaves me begging, and when he's done with me....

I'll be daddy's good little girl.

This was a fairytale retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It was one of my favorite stories growing up so I was excited to listen to this one. Overall I was really pleased with this version. The story was made contempary and was very well done. I liked the twists and changes from the childhood version. It stayed true enough to what I liked while being it's own unique story. I really liked the narrator chosen for the beast, Gunnar Qualen. He is a new narrator for me but he pulled off a growly beast of a man really well. I was kind of torn when it came to the female narrator, Jenna St. Claire. She gave a pretty good performance, but I don't really feel like she sounded like a woman in her very early twenties. Neither narrator did the best when it came to variations for different characters, but being performed in duet narration really helped in my opinion because neither of them was trying to do opposite gender voices as well. I did think this was a good introduction to a new to me author though and I look forward to listening to more of Jane Henry's books in future.

This isn’t your typical Beauty & Beast story, this one is much steamer! I enjoyed the dual narrative, and the authors way of letting you into Annabelle’s and Sawyer’s head. It gives you more of a complete picture of how tormented Sawyer is, and the confusion that Annabelle feels. The ending is great and a HEA.

The was a book that was a remake of Beauty and the Beast with a sexy twist. The story was okay and it was interesting and I likes the narration. This was not a book that will be a repeat listen. But it might be great for someone else, just not for me.

Absolutely loved this book. I have a soft spot for broken Alpha’s! Fantastic narration from both narrators.

Great twist on a classic tale

Jane Henry’s dark & dirty take on the classic Beauty & the Beast. It is a well written and well told story with interesting storylines and some nice twists. The characters are well developed, Annabelle was a bit naive, not knowing what she was getting herself into, but she adapted quickly. Sebastian, the beastly reclusive billionaire, has issues and appears to be dark and twisted. Annabelle manages to break the barriers he has around his heart. Can he be her Prince Charming? This is an entertaining, fast paced story with some D/s scenes and a lot of heart.

I listened to the Audible edition, Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire did a terrific job narrating and telling the story. They perform all the voices and bring the characters to life from the pages to your ears. Thanks for an entertaining listen.
