Atlan Warlord Velik is hanging on to sanity by a thread. His mating fever rages. His beast fights him every moment. The beast needs to hunt. To kill. To find their mate or surrender to a glorious death in battle. He volunteers for a mission so dangerous, he knows he will not return.

Waiting to deploy, he is lost, keeping distance between himself and those his tormented beast could destroy. His fate is sealed … until his beast picks up her scent. Sees her face. In an instant, the beast knows this human woman belongs to him and no one else.

No beast has ever claimed his mate, then left her behind. If he survives the mission, he will beg her forgiveness. He must live. He must return to her, even if he suspects the gods themselves want him dead.

Plenty of spice but plot driven, great listen. Can be listened to as a standalone, rather than in order of the series

Great story

Couldn't wait to listen to this story. At first audible said it was to be released in November, then it kept being delayed. I wanted to know about Velik and Stefani so badly I purchased the kindle version. I have trouble reading (funny eye) but persevered. Listening to the story has been wonderful, the narrators are brilliant and highly recommend this story .Brought tears to my eyes through out the story and was gifted with a lovely HEA.

Brilliant!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this beautiful, brilliant, drama packed and highly emotional love story. The characters were adorable and well written and the HEA and narration were perfect. This was my favourite Beast book. I’m grateful this short story was in the big sale because it’s too short for me to justify using a credit or paying full price.

Beyond excellent short story 👏👏👏
