A brutal, gripping tale of courage, loyalty, and sacrifice set in a horrifying 18th-century Colonial America.

Amidst the brutality of the French and Indian War, an officer in the legendary Rogers’ Rangers is thrust into a nightmare that will challenge both his leadership and his lifelong quest to leave his father’s heritage behind. Lieutenant Geoffrey Rapelje is tasked with guiding a ranger detachment to his birthplace to preserve a fragile treaty between the British and his father’s people.

What Geoffrey finds is not the idyllic village of his youth, but a land—and a tribe—ravaged by a vicious, unknown force.

He and his rangers embark on a harrowing journey across a North American wilderness beset by violence, betrayal, and inexplicable terrors. To defeat a genocidal enemy, Geoffrey must embrace a dark truth he has long denied.

Scott Sigler does it again! Beasts Beyond the River is gripping, intense, and packed with the kind of suspense and dark imagination that keeps you turning the pages. Beasts Beyond the River is another brilliant read from Scott Sigler. If you enjoyed Ancestors, this has that same creepy, relentless atmosphere and sense of escalating danger, but with its own unique setting and story. Tense, gruesome, and impossible to put down—Sigler at his best! 5 Stars from me

Gripping, page turning excellence

Scott Sigler books are always a bit like watching a movie full of horror and action. This felt different (in a good way) from his normal horror and sci-fi in its historical setting. I'm in the UK and there was a famous TV show back in the late 90's called Sharpe about Green Jackets. It was massively enjoyable to picture a squad like Sharpe's fighting 'something out there' (avoiding spoilers). clearly lots of love went into the writing and lots by Ray Porter who is a brilliant voice for the Sigler books.

Great fun and great narration

although not my genre choice, I am glad I stuck with it. a very different style of writing than most sigler novels. but well worth the credit. I do feel sorry for John vizicara though having to track all the native names lol

excellent narrator

Yet again Scott Sigler effortlessly takes you to other worldliness in a convincing, fast paced and exciting adventure. Scott’s storytelling gets better with every outing, still with a high body count - I recommend his back catalogue and his podcasts from way back when to really appreciate this.

Exciting adventure in a historical context with a dark fantasy twist
