A New Crime Thriller Series set in Cambridge, UK with just enough dry wit to get you into trouble. "Had me laughing out loud." - Reader Review.

Forensic accountant Peter 'Bales' Bailey uncovers financial crime for a living. He's very good at it.

Saying no to Katie, a feisty personal trainer with a tax problem? Less so.

Katie's brother is involved in something far nastier than tax returns. Something people are willing to kill for. And now- through a mix of bad luck, worse judgement and a spectacular inability to just say no - Bales is involved too.

Dragged from Cambridge's quiet boardrooms into corners of the city he never knew existed, Bales is about to learn a hard truth. Being brilliant with numbers offers very little protection when people want you dead (there's no spreadsheet for that).

A sharp, fast paced financial thriller with dry humour set in Cambridge, England - perfect for fans of JOHN GRISHAM, MICK HERRON & HARLAN COBEN with a slightly less sensible accountant at the centre.

Thoroughly enjoyable book. Well paced with great snippets of humour, looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Great read

Promising starr to a new series, with characters emerging and a decent plot. I really struggled with the halting voice of the narrator however. This detracted significantly from the story unfortunately.

Enjoyable, despite...

The narrator’s intonation was terrible- a real struggle to listen to. I had to listen at 1.75 speed to get through. I wanted to persevere with the story but not actually sure it was worth it in the end. It was a relief to finish it. The main characters were shallow and unlikeable. The story and writing clichéd.
