Paranoia-fuelled Zack Walker has trouble convincing his loved ones to obey his rules for keeping them out of harm's way.

He's even uprooted his family and headed for the tranquillity of the suburbs. But then Zack stumbles upon a body, and a trail of deceit and murder leads right back to his own front door. Suddenly the 'burbs is not looking nearly so safe....

With a killer roaming around their neighbourhood and Zack's overactive imagination in overdrive, he's sure things can't get any worse. But then another local is murdered - and Zack's paranoid tendencies get him implicated in the crime. To protect his family - and avoid being busted for a crime he didn't commit - he's going to have to override his instincts and track down the killer himself.

Stick with the build up and you're in for a fabulous journey...William Hope portrays the book perfectly.

Brillant

Found the main character slightly annoying as the author intended but feel several hours of him began to grate. Guessed at final twist. Beautifully narrated and Linwood Barclay is a good author. Have enjoyed other of his books more

A little disappointed

Writing this review on all 4 books in the Zak Walker series. I’m just coming to the end of my 2nd listen to this series and it’s just as good this time as the 1st. I admit I’m a big fan of Linwood Barclay and he doesn’t disappoint here with great fleshed out characters brilliantly brought to life by William Hope and storylines with genuine laugh out loud moments. No doubt I’ll listen again at some point. Highly recommended

Excellent series of books!!

At the end of this book
(great ending by the way)
I can say I enjoyed it, and I'm glad I stuck with it,but it takes dragging a story out to a whole new level, and that's such a shame because the actual plot, characters and narration are excellent.
I could put this down to it being the first in quite a long series, maybe the next one won't be as unnecessarily lengthy.....
I'm really not sure I'll want to find out though.

Its extremely long winded.......

I love the long descriptions with tiny details, that really bring the story to life.

Good read
