There is one word that brings out the worst in people: TREASURE.

When special agent Kurt Hunter finds a boat adrift in the Biscayne National Park with the dead body of a famous treasure hunter aboard, the race is on to find his killer. Alliances shift and the bodies start to pile up as Kurt and Justine navigate the devious and dangerous world of treasure hunters to find the killer.

From the iconic Intracoastal Waterway of Miami to the beauty of the Biscayne National Park, this new mystery from best-selling author Steven Becker reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly of South Florida.

Backwater Tide brought back together some of my favorite characters from various books by Steven Becker. I loved having Mac Travis make cameo appearances with Kurt Hunter, Justine and others. This book pulled me in from the very beginning with its incredible imagery, action, and humor. Treasure hunting is a big theme in this story along with the relationship of Kurt Hunter and his boss. I found humor in the ways he tried to out maneuver his boss. Kurt has a panache for finding dead bodies and does not disappoint with this book. He may be rough around the edges, but that is part of his appeal. Paul J McSorely performs this book flawlessly. I could hear exactly who was speaking. He adds the right emotions to the scenes. I highly recommend this book and will definitely listen to more by this author and narrator.

Great Story, Fantastic Narration!
