If God already knows everything, why would I need to confess to Him? That question stopped me when I started studying this month’s discipline, and the answer changed how I think about being known.
In this episode, we look at confession two ways, and what each one does in us. We trace the thread from the fig leaves of Genesis 3 to David’s honesty in Psalm 51, and what James 5:16 might mean by “healed.” Along the way, we talk about shame, why opening up is so hard, and how we can only be loved as deeply as we are known.
Scripture References: 1 John 1:9, James 5:16, Psalm 32, Genesis 3:7 & 21, Genesis 2:25, Psalm 51, Hebrews 4:14–16
