Before Tony Hawk became a household name, Christian Slater was skating his way through murder, mystery, and pure 1980s madness! 🛹🔥

This week, Camp Wayback Movie Night takes a trip back to 1989 for Gleaming the Cube, the cult classic that somehow combined skateboarding, conspiracy, action, and teenage rebellion into one gloriously bizarre cinematic experience!

Starring Christian Slater as Brian Kelly, a rebellious skateboarder whose world is turned upside down following the mysterious death of his adopted brother, Gleaming the Cube delivers everything you could want from a late-80s movie: questionable decisions, spectacular skateboarding, a surprisingly serious mystery, and enough glorious 80s attitude to fill an entire VHS rental shelf.

And did we mention the legendary Tony Hawk makes an appearance alongside some of the era's biggest skateboarding talents?

Join Mookie, Crawdaddy, and the Big Red Machine as we revisit this wonderfully strange piece of 80s nostalgia and ask the important questions:

🛹 Does Gleaming the Cube deserve more recognition as an underrated 80s cult classic?

🎬 Does Christian Slater carry this wild combination of skateboarding and murder mystery?

🔥 Are the skateboarding sequences better than the actual movie?

😂 And most importantly, does this movie still hold up nearly four decades later, or should we have left it on the video store shelf?

Expect plenty of laughs, questionable opinions, ridiculous tangents, and the kind of unapologetic 1980s nostalgia that makes Camp Wayback the place where growing up is strictly optional.

If you love 80s movies, forgotten cult classics, retro pop culture, or just three guys arguing about movies they probably watched way too many times growing up, you've found your people.
