The island of Marigold in the land of Keyfaetuun has been a peaceful kingdom ever since Rumpelstiltskin’s New Spin was settled. But when the famous spinner seeks to move on, he passes guardianship of Marigold to Pavi, a plucky fairy who spends much of her time as a hummingbird. One day, she spies Queen Hema and her youngest son Lorkaz boating on the river, when things take a tragic turn.Years later, King Orion is still grieving. He’s more interested in raising Lorkaz and his other older sons well rather than taking care of the rest of the kingdom. That choice doesn’t sit well with Chamberlin Naga. He pays the court scribe Vira and her friend Ziana to sail to the Kingdom of Saphalite and buy a rare and dangerous spell book. Vira realizes Naga’s plot too late but does manage to warn the youngest prince Lorkaz, who escapes Naga’s enchantment on his father and brothers. Now, with some guidance from Pavi, it’s up to Prince Lorkaz to rescue his family and for Vira and Ziana to stop Naga and set right the problem they unknowingly created.©2026 Kate Labahn (P)2026 Kate Labahn Dragons & Mythical Creatures Epic Fantasy
