An uplifting, genre-nonconforming fantasy adventure set in and under Liverpool. Parklife is the first story in a four-part series."Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."Douglas Adams"True friends. Hardest thing to find, but you never look for them - they found you; you just grow into each other."Keith RichardsRetired couple Amelia Carter and Paul Compton don’t realise what they’ve let themselves in for when they invite a film crew into their beautiful Victorian villa on the outskirts of Sefton Park, Liverpool. Their quiet life is transformed when a cursing filmset gaffer in pursuit of a wasp takes a sledgehammer to their cellar wall. A subterranean world of hidden rooms, tunnels, codes and clues is revealed, leading to exciting, enthralling and enlightening adventures. With their friend Reggie, Amelia’s son Spencer and Spencer’s partner Valerie, they embark on an epic quest beneath the city of Liverpool to discover more about mysterious “Operation Alexandria”.Their lives will be changed forever by what they find underground, and by new friendships forged.Features smoking, drinking, swearing and Yahtzee.©2022 CJ Lee (P)2026 CJ Lee Fantasy Literature & Fiction
