A bastard hybrid of War of the Worlds and Night of the Living Dead, the Autumn series chronicles the struggle of a small group of survivors forced to contend with a world torn apart by a deadly disease. While the first Autumn novel focused on those who escaped the city, Autumn: The City focuses on those who didn't.

A small group of survivors take shelter in the remains of a devastated city, hiding in terror as the full effects of the horrific infection start to become clear. The sudden appearance of a company of soldiers again threatens the survivors' fragile existence. Do they bring with them hope, help and answers, or more pain, fear and suffering?

The story continues and doesn’t disappoint. Lots of new characters and Aubrey Parsons is a master in bringing them to life.

David Moody doing what he does best and Mr Parsons is the perfect Narrator . Please can we get the Hater series in Audio book 🙏

I enjoyed the first book in the series, but it was with "The City" that I became hooked. The intimate scope of book one is a great introduction to the details of the outbreak, but here you get to appreciate the scale of the apocalypse. A larger cast of characters in a more expansive setting allows so much more exploration of the world that they now have to deal with.
I would recommend starting at the first book, but this is also a great introduction to what is yet to come.

Aubrey voice now feels as much a part of the series to me as Dave’s words!

This is the perfect follow up to Autumn. Partly following Michael and Emma and bringing in some new survivors from the city. Moody's descriptions of the city are incredible and it's not hard to imagine the scenes being set.
The fact that Autumn hasn't been made into a TV series yet is almost criminal.
The narration in this book is brilliant and Aubrey Parsons brings all the characters to life with their unique accents and traits.
Just can't fault this series.
