The enemy has been discovered, the battle lines have been drawn, and the world will never be the same.

A major battle in downtown Hamburg has seen the metropolis practically leveled, demonstrating in the worst possible way how much power individuals can hold, and the world is reeling from the shock. But more members of the cult responsible for the catastrophe are still out there, and Isaac has resolved to hunt them all down, even if each attempt may unleash a fresh wave of violent calamity.

And the political responses to the situation are predictably counterproductive: ineffective regulation that lets real monsters grow in strength while strangling efforts to save the world.

Can Isaac fight against the whole world, working around the old order he’s trying to save while beating the cataclysm the [System] has brought with it—or will he be forced to watch humanity end for a second time?

I think the story is great and the performance even better, however one gripe i have and this couls be intentional seeing as you would have to be crazy to go to the lengths the villain has. but seeing as he is presented as logical his entire reason for doing what he is ( the environment) makes zero sense in the context of the book considering there are literal spells for anything so reversing climate change seems an almost trivial fix. so it annoys me when i hear him drone on about he reasons when they seem to make no sense given the context but this could be intentional so take from this what you will.

all great except main villain

This was again another good continuation of the series. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

To this day and 5 books deep, this remains the finest realistic take on a system apocalypse story.

Daniel Thomas May performance lives rent free in my head.

I'm going to be here for it all.

Keep em coming Jakob

The aspects and nuisances stand above other books in this genre. I love it. Can't wait for book 6.
