Like so many of the most popular classic novels, it's Tolstoy's delicate and insightful exploration of what it means to be human that makes Anna Karenina such a valuable work. There's no denying that it transcends time to touch the hearts of contemporary listeners.

Anna Karenina seems to have everything - beauty, wealth, popularity and an adored son. But she feels that her life is empty until the moment she encounters the impetuous officer Count Vronsky.

Translated by Louise and Aylmer Maude.

I've been consistently impressed with the narrators I've heard on Audible, but David Horovitch's performance in Anna Karenina is a masterclass. His pacing and voicing is perfect, and each character is brought wonderfully to life. The novel itself is without doubt brilliant, and undoubtably a classic, but I've always found it quite intimidating to take on but I would thoroughly recommend this production of it.

Superb!

If I had to send one book to a civilisation in a different galaxy, it would be this one.

Possibly the most brilliant novel ever written. Beautifully read.

What a wonderful book that perhaps understands or answers life philosophies we all ponder on. An important book for all classic lovers, and one that has thrown me into love for Russian literature.

It's read so incredibly well that I longed to come back to it again and again. A slow listen of a world that you can return to with excitement.
