One man's desperate journey to get home in a post-apocalyptic world.

Steven Porter had a mostly charmed life, one that most people would envy, that is until it all vanished. He was far from home on that day when his world changed forever. How far does the devastation reach - the whole country, the world? Millions of people are fleeing the cities trying to find safety. Steve finds himself as one of those lost souls wandering the highways. Each step forward is fraught with peril. What will he find if he even makes it back home?

To survive the dangerous journey, he must battle hunger, thirst, and the relentless attacks by others as well as a seemingly brutal response by our government that raises more questions than answers. What's left of his world? Normal is a fading memory, survival is all that matters. His challenge is simple, adapt or die.

American Exodus is a companion novel to the popular Catalyst series. This gritty standalone get-home journey offers an intimate view of one man's harrowing mission to return to his family.

In my opinion everything is to like about the Catalyst series.
Rewarding twists and turns, just when you think you know JK'S style he throws you under the bus and sets off down an alternative narrative!
Superb!

A journey that paints the true grit and at times the gruesome horrors in vivid colour but keeping the pace and with detail.

It was hard to listen at times without feeling quite emotional at the suffering and grief that the author is wringing from the blood of humanity in this apocalyptic event.

I admit I cried more than once at the losses endured and I badly need to continue this series.

More and more the plot is unfolding and I’m gutted having to wait to continue even if only a short while.

Not a series you want to listen to to lull you into sleep and I think my phone has been shaken to death to continue well into the night.

Packed with punches

I read book 3 last and enjoyed it the most as well. The whole series is addictive and loved listening on audiobook

Great read loved the series

Amazing series which I binge listened to over a series of long drives. The characters are human and flawed, not super men. The author takes you step by step, it’s all believable; the story has dark moments; but the violence is never gratuitous.

For fans of dystopian fiction, when governments turn against their people, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I love how this is a stand alone book but it ties in so well with the series.

Fantastically writing.
