Escape to the Lakes with MULTI-MILLION COPY BESTSELLER Jessica Redland for the perfect story of love, friendship and finding the silver lining in every stage of life.

Every book in the Escape to the Lakes Series can be read as a standalone

'It’s all about reframing things. No regrets. Just silver linings.'

Juliet believes in love stories. As a wedding planner, she’s helped create more than five hundred perfect days for other people, though her own path to happy-ever-after has been far from easy. Her first love always taught Juliet to look for the silver linings in life, and when she unexpectedly meets Christian Wynterson, it feels as though one might finally be shining through.

But not everyone is ready to accept Juliet and Christian’s new beginning. Family tensions, buried secrets and old wounds threaten to overshadow what should be a joyful new chapter.

Juliet has spent years believing in happy endings for everyone else. But can the people she and Christian love see that their relationship isn’t just a silver lining – it could be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

Congratulations Jessica on another fantabulous book!
It was great to escape to the Lake District again and catch up with old friends and make new ones, which is how it felt listening to this book. Love the story, love the narrator, love everything about it! I couldn’t stop listening to it which is why I have unfortunately for me finished it in a day.
I most definitely recommend listening to or reading this book.

Just lovely!

I always read everything Jessica writes and enjoyed this audiobook over a couple of days as soon as it came out. It is good to notice characters and storylines from previous books in the series and I love the lake district setting. The last 3 books or so Jessica has written have been with older characters than me, which hasn't been quite as much my cup of tea, but maybe cosy no-spice romance readers are often older than I am? Ditto a light sprinkling of God in this one felt artificially added.

A few niggles - I couldn't believe a 50 year old woman had never heard of perimenopause (an important character) -- maybe they were originally written as younger. Also that a religious couple would be into crystals (minor characters so not a big issue). Things moved very quickly with the main couple in terms of future plans, and the title theme was over repeated for my taste.

Jessica always includes a more serious social issue to balance out the saccharine love story (/stories - everyone seemed to be getting married in this story!). Given the Cornell rape case in the news this one was well timed discussion of consent and what a non-stereotypical victim might look like and how they can reclaim power and agency. Again it was a a little over-done but good to include. I was interested in the Delta storyline, perhaps she will appear in future books.

As always there was cosy romance, cute animals, community setting and a bit of seriousness. Just what you expect from a Jessica Redland book.
In all, an enjoyable, easy read, well narrated, and a perfect listen for rainy days.
