I used to want nothing more than to escape my destiny.

Except escaping wasn’t an option. The fates are a cruel mistress, and running got me nowhere.

Rejected. Tormented. Betrayed.

With my world under attack from someone I considered family and the one person I thought hated me most standing by me, my entire world is upside down.

The pain of rejection was nothing compared to the pain of betrayal.

I wanted a choice, and the fates obliged. Fight to reclaim what is meant to be mine or lose everything I never knew I wanted.

My destiny is my own. Nothing and no one will take that from me.

I wanted to love this book and I did but at the same time didn't. The story had twists and turns but the ending felt very rushed and wasn't explained at all. I know part of that is to get us to come back for book three but I just kind of kept screaming at Maddox for the entire last 30/40 minutes of the book. He kept saying she was it, it was only Luna and then all of the sudden he just forgets she exists and that's that. I really didn't like how it ended but I know I'll come back for the third book hoping it will make up for itself.

Steady pace, strong characters. There is plenty of action and intrigue in this story. Its coming of age for shifters. The ending was definitely a cliff-hanger!! I am desperate for the next book!

I enjoyed the way this one continued the series, the characters were incredibly entertaining and there was a lot of emotions and adventure to keep my attention.

The narration was interesting and brought a lot more of the personality of the main characters out. What a wonderful book, I am very excited to see what Sloane Murphy has to offer next with her writing.
