The explosive story of the biggest mistakes in US history – from White House insider turned host of hit podcast The Rest Is Politics: US , Anthony Scaramucci

We’re living in an age of deep political anger and frustration. Where did it come from, and how do we get out?

From Main Street to Wall Street, from the boardroom to the Situation Room, Anthony Scaramucci uncovers the true origins of America’s current crisis. He pinpoints the catastrophic decisions that dismantled the system supporting the American Dream –deepening inequality, corroding trust and ultimately empowering Trump’s ascent and assault on democracy.

Rising from the working class to the heights of finance and power, Scaramucci knows first-hand how money and ideals are intertwined. Now widely admired for his storytelling and blistering political analysis, he brings fresh perspective to how both parties betrayed those they once represented, cutting through partisanship and offering a roadmap for rebuilding opportunity, security and hope.

All the Wrong Moves is not about right and left. It’s about right and wrong.

This audio edition features a bonus, audio exclusive interview between Anthony Scaramucci and Dominic Sandbrook, co-host of The Rest is History.

Challenging, surprising and always engaging. This is the Mooch at his most thoughtful and wise (Emily Maitlis)
Anthony Scaramucci brings to his superb book the same verve, wit and intelligent analysis that we hear each week on The Rest is Politics US. This is essential reading for anyone trying to make sense of the mess the world is in (Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, The Rest is Politics)
Insightful, funny, fascinating and unsparing – Anthony's book is deliciously like Anthony. When is he EVER not totally compelling? (Marina Hyde)
Thoughtful, witty and always provocative, this is a wonderfully insightful reflection on the Trump phenomenon. Scaramucci takes the long view, looking back into American history for the roots of Trumpism, and identifies three crucial moments that shaped the political landscape of the 2020s. From the embrace of globalization and the rise of China to the invasion of Iraq and the Wall Street bailouts, this is an essential guide to what’s gone wrong with America. It’s an irresistibly engaging, lively and clever read – just as you’d expect from such a gifted communicator (Dominic Sandbrook)
Anthony Scaramucci has the rare talent of offering important political and market insights while also being blisteringly funny. All the Wrong Moves is thought-provoking and fun (Robert Peston)
All the Wrong Moves is a profound, compelling and deeply thought-provoking book. Drawing on the past centuries of America’s rich history, this is a story filled with razor-sharp analysis, wisdom and pragmatic common sense. Authoritative, incisive, often disturbing, but ultimately offering a path for redemption – it needs to be read by as wide an audience as possible (James Holland, author of Normandy '44)
The Mooch is just so annoying: as a storyteller, he makes the rest of us feel drab (Jon Sopel)
The maddeningly brilliant Mooch is impossible to ignore (Jane Garvey)
Scaramucci’s deep knowledge of the forces that have created our current political situation is presented here with great clarity and a sharp wit (Stanley Tucci)
[An] eloquent book ... Candid and thoughtful

A really well thought thru and argued analysis of the state of play in the US today and how it’s got there. The author moves beyond his normally heated straight talking on TRIP US (which is highly entertaining) to a more sober, robust analysis. Self deprecating also. Hard not to be swayed by many of his points and especially of his ‘money view of history’. So true. Many aspects of his hypotheses felt personal to the author and his narration was convincing. Well worth a read. Timely.

Bold, brave and well argued

A fascinating and engaging read from Anthony Scaramucci, one-time Communications Director in the first Trump administration and co-host of excellent The Rest Is Politics US podcast. From the rise of globalization to the current chaos in the United States, Anthony takes the reader on a tour that explains the forces that gave rise to Trumpism, not only with his characteristic wit and analytical clarity, but also discusses what may lie ahead for the US. Before this, I believed that I already had a decent grasp of US history (British/Canadian citizen here), but pleased to say that ATWM broadened my knowledge by adding the perspective of someone who was both "in the room" and also has a deep understanding of how the markets work.
Audio quality was excellent, read at a steady pace, and delivered in Anthony's normal voice; very easy to listen to.
Overall, if you are interested in history, politics, or just how on Earth things in the US got to where they are, I would recommend this book wholeheartedly. An excellent read from the Mooch.

Loved the book and learned so much about US history that has led us to where we are today. Amazing detail and insight. My only comment Anthony is why read it so slowly and deliberately ? Listen on x1.2 and it sounds so much more natural

Great listen with so much historic detail
