The twentieth novel in the bestselling Alex Cross series

Detective Alex Cross has three killers to hunt, and one to escape...

Three killers are on a rampage, and the body count is rising. But even the veteran detective, Alex Cross, can't catch three killers at once.

As he is pulled in every direction by the different investigations, Alex is under more pressure than ever before. And a crisis at home threatens to tear his family apart and pushes him close to the edge.

So close that Alex doesn't realise he's being watched.

Eleştirmen yorumları

Alex Cross remains James Patterson's signature character, a man who virtually owns the phrase 'high octane' and this outing is no exception. (Michael Conaghan)
It's no mystery why James Patterson is the world's most popular thriller writer: his uncanny skill in creating living, breathing characters we truly feel for and seamless, lightning-fast plots. I do this for a living, and he still manages to keep me guessing from the first to last page ... Simply put: Nobody does it better. (JEFFERY DEAVER)
Behind all the noise and the numbers, we shouldn't forget that no one gets this big without amazing natural storytelling talent - which is what Jim has, in spades. The Alex Cross series proves it. (LEE CHILD, bestselling author of the Jack Reacher series)
James Patterson is The Boss. End of. (IAN RANKIN, bestselling author of the Inspector Rebus series)
I wrote, "Along Came a Spider is the best thriller I've come across in many a year. It deserves to be this season's no. 1 bestseller and should instantly make James Patterson a household name." A household name, indeed. (NELSON DEMILLE)
Every once in a while a writer comes along and fundamentally changes the way people read. He or she is so bright, so innovative, so industrious that what they envision and create becomes the measure by which all others are judged. In 1993 one such writer - James Patterson - began to do just that ... James Patterson is the gold standard by which all others are judged. (STEVE BERRY, bestselling author of the Colton Malone series)
[Alex Cross] has become one of the greatest fictional detectives of all time, a character for the ages. (DOUGLAS PRESTON and LINCOLN CHILD)
Alex Cross is a legend. (HARLAN COBEN)
Patterson boils a scene down to the single, telling detail, the element that defines a character or moves a plot along. It's what fires off the movie projector in the reader's mind. (MICHAEL CONNELLY)
Patterson knows where our deepest fears are buried... there's no stopping his imagination. (NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW)

En alakalı

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael Boatman and Steven Boyer ’s performances?

I think it is better when an actual female takes on the voice of a woman - like in MERRY CHRISTMAS ALEX CROSS

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The frustration when Alex was wrongly accused and ended up in a cell

Any additional comments?

I like the fact we see Bree as a detective again in this book and not just Alex's wife (like in the last 2). She was a "super-cop" when he first met her and suddenly, her work wasn't mentioned once they married. Don't like the fact Damien is STILL away from the home (WHY was that ever written in - from a young age too). This is the usual Alex Cross offering - I like the twist where Alex finds himself on the wrong side of the law! I also like the mention of the Charter schools / KIPP schools - well done James!

Slow to start and some questions left unanswered but still a good novel. The narrators were excellent.

Decent storyline but it all comes together a little to suddenly and easily at the end. Not in keeping with the build up

Good plot but....
