Özet

With brilliant new livery to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this ground-breaking fantasy series, Alanna the Lioness – the first woman knight – rides again.

Alanna of Trebond may be a girl of noble birth, but she will not be sentenced to the life of a well-mannered young lady. Alanna dreams of becoming a knight of the realm of Tortall, and neither her gender nor her father’s orders will stop her.

Though Alanna’s father is preparing her twin brother, Thom, for the path to knighthood, he dreams of studying sorcery. To forge their own destinies, the two hatch a cunning plan: Alanna will disguise herself as a boy and take Thom’s place while he learns the art of magic.

But the path to knighthood is never easy and, on her first adventure, Alanna will find friends and enemies, sickness and sorcery, and discover the magic within her…

Forty years on from first publication, The Song of the Lioness Quartetretains its warmth, adventure, and steel, affirming this coming-of-age tale as a timeless masterpiece.

I read and re-read everything by Tamora Pierce when I was a kid, and it's such a joy to have the Alanna series available as audiobooks now!
Pleasant narration. Not the most brilliant or skilled I've heard, but I love that she doesn't force it with the different (male) voices. She has a good flow and it makes it a calm experience. Hope she doesn't change that in the other books!

Childhood classic, a must-read

Absolutely delighted to finally get this in the UK. Many many moons ago a teenage me had these on cassette and wore them out!

A fabulous (new to me) narrator to immerse me in the world that shaped me as a tween into the (ahem) woman I am now.

The best bit, sharing the audio love with my teen daughter.

Delighted!

Perfectly what it is. A young adult fantasy adventure story with a kickass heroine. I enjoyed it a lot.

I love how alan is so independent as she proves women are as great and confident as boys. Also I think for people who like fantasy and romance would love this book because it is very funny and Interesting seeing Johnathan and George become amazing friends with Alanna the female knight...
All I can say is that it is fabulous and I adore it 😍♥️
