Change is the only constant

Returning to the Verdant Green Waters sect over a decade after his exile, Wu Ying finds his position and place within the Sect in flux. Strong enough to be an Elder but not having achieved his rank via the normal methods, he has jealous and worried rivals to contend with. It is reminiscent of his own past, but now, he's an Elder and able to enact transformation in a broader sense.

Wu Ying must find his own place in the sect or leave it once and for all. The cultivation wounds he received in the south trouble him, and it will require time and resources - resources the Sect is able to provide - for him to stabilize his footing before he continues his climb to ascension. As with all things, immortality is never easy to grasp.

A Thousand Li: the Fourth Stage is the tenth book of the xianxia series, A Thousand Li. It begins the final arc of Wu Ying's journey to immortality, the trials and tribulations he faces and the leg of his journey. Tao Wong is the bestselling author of the System Apocalypse, Hidden Wishes and Adventures on Brad series.

Very satisfying and, fittingly, well balanced installment in the story; especially this far in and after the gulf of time, distance, and events that had separated our wandering protagonist from the sect he now returns to

Another great instalment

Wu Ying’s adventures takes an interlude in book ten of the Thousand Li series. It’s a shame that this book has not been combined with either the previous or the next book as there is a substantial pause in the pacing of book 10. The story, without giving any spoilers, grounds to a halt and peters out into a slice of life - R and R arch, reminiscent of an intermission arch of a web toon. It is possible to skip this book if you are short on credits and not miss much; however fan of the series will at least find something of worth in listening to it. Note that if you do proceed in getting book ten, you will not find any major antagonists, adventures, plots nor action scenes. Let’s hope things get more interesting in the next book.

More of an interlude than a complete novel.
