The perfect ending to 2023, I had this gem in my ears and was completely captivated by Tia Louise's writing! This second chance romance had me from the start as I learned about Piper and Adam. These two were best friend forever, but when it came to love, Piper ended up marrying Rex, the other best friend. Piper held a secret about their marriage for years, even after Rex's untimely death that kept her heart distant from any new relationships. But now Adam is back home, and her heart may be in danger. He is still enchanted by her and her son, but will he be able to break through the barrier? This book is packed full of all the feels. Adam is the bad boy gone good and his transformation and maturity had me from the beginning! Even at the birth of Piper's son, I was in love with his good soul. Piper is a tough woman, and it's so easy to understand her position, but at times I was so frustrated! I know, I was supposed to be, but honestly, if I could have just shaken her! Anyway, I digress. Louise has captured it all, and the true star of the story is Ryan, Piper's son. He is a light in darkness and always drew out all the emotions I was feeling! This is the kind of story I love and always brings me back to this fantastic author.

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor, I knew I was in for a treat. These two work so well together and brought out each of the characters' feelings with ease. Hamilton gave Adam the bad boy feel, but also let us see the heart on his sleeve. Brentmoor gave Piper a guarded heart and let me feel the walls come down. Each one dialing into the mind of their person and made this listen a pleasure to hear.

Adam Stone is perfect....at least he always has been for Piper Jackson.

This is a lovely story of the lengths some men will go to for their 'girl'...even when she's not, your girl that is!

I'll certainly be heading back to Eureka, S.C to visit with some of the other loved up couples!
