Özet
'I cannot recommend this enough. This was the best Regency RomCom I've read all year!' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'A real regency romance which was a delight to read' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'I really enjoyed this story, but I have to say I cheered for Nick, and I yelled for Meggy to wake up' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Never trust a rake...

Lady Margaret has devoted herself to taking care of her young siblings and the estate while her half-brother fritters away the family fortune. Upon Edwin's death, she learns he has left them destitute and, worst of all, at the mercy of a notorious and cruel rake.

Lord Nicholas would much rather be pursing women for quick sport rather than taking care of a headstrong debutante without any prospects, as well as her siblings. But Edwin saved his life once, and now he owes him a debt. Fortunately, all he has to do is find Meggy a husband, and his debt will be paid.

There's just one issue: Meggy is nothing like what he'd imagined. And the more time he spends in her company, the more he begins to wonder whether he's met his match...

Heartwarming, sexy and unputdownable, A Lady's Risk is perfect for fans of Georgette Heyer and Bridgerton.

Eleştirmen yorumları

A delightful romance in which the spirited heroine has to decide if there are some things more important than love--or if, in fact, love encompasses them all
A heart-warming and richly emotional debut that shines with sparkling wit, passion and fun.

I enjoyed this a lot, despite the odd anachronism (duvets in Britain in 1813?) and the frustration I felt each time Meggy announced she couldn’t trust Nicky. What a goose! He was gorgeous, and the moment she saw how wonderful he was with the children she should have said Yes straightaway! Still, I enjoyed it and look forward to to the next in the series. The reader was good, but the odd mispronounced word jarred. On the whole though, this was a great story, witty and moving at times, and most enjoyable.

Delightful romance

The narrator's portrayal of the heroine as opinionated, arrogant and insolent caused me to give up in the middle of the second chapter. A softer touch would have made her more attractive and less irritating. A pity as the story appeared to have legs. I'll attempt the book instead.

Narrator spoils the story

Just what I needed this week! Fun, witty and SO much romantic tension. Clever narrative structure that keeps you on your toes and a hero and heroine it’s hard not to love. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and I thought the narrator did a great job with the various characters.

A delightful slice of escapism!
