Eleştirmen yorumları

Louise Penny's writing is intricate, beautiful and compelling. She is an original voice, a distillation of both PD James and Barbara Vine at their peaks and a worthy successor to both
Penny's elegant style is deeply satisfying, while Gamache is contemplative even when under pressure, and remains a man you want to spend time with
Brimming with atmosphere and steeped in soul-searching . . . Penny combines clever plotting with beautifully evocative descriptions
Penny's elliptical style works brilliantly in a novel that combines modern-day police corruption with century-old tragedy

After so many books read by the same narrator it was difficult to recognise the characters. I missed the whole québécoise of it.

great story, wrong narrator

These books revolve around Canadian characters in a beautiful Quebec setting. Shame this new book narrated with an English, rather than North American accent. Doesn't capture some of the characters very well. Bring back Adam Simms!

Another great story

Any additional comments?

I was so excited when this, the latest of the series, was published and I put off listening to it as long as I could to savour the anticipation. I was not disappointed. All the regular characters are back, life goes on in Three Pines. This episode answers a few of the ongoing mysteries surrounding this village. Sad In some ways, Three Pines should not ever be fully explained!
The narration by Robert Bathurst was excellent but for me it subtly changed the characterisations I have come to love from Adam Sims, reducing the pleasure of familiarity that for me is so much part of the saga of Three Pines.

A Great Reckonig

I liked it all. Good follow up to the previous novels, but like the others, it will stand alone. A good mystery story and thriller.
