HBO’s hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R. R. Martin’s internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. A FEAST FOR CROWS is the fourth volume in the series.

The Lannisters are in power on the Iron Throne.

The war in the Seven Kingdoms has burned itself out, but in its bitter aftermath new conflicts spark to life. The Martells of Dorne and the Starks of Winterfell seek vengeance for their dead. Euron Crow’s Eye, as black a pirate as ever raised a sail, returns from the smoking ruins of Valyria to claim the Iron Isles.

From the icy north, where Others threaten the Wall, apprentice Maester Samwell Tarly brings a mysterious babe in arms to the Citadel. As plots, intrigue and battle threaten to engulf Westeros, victory will go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel and the coldest hearts.

'Truly epic … with its magnificent action-filled climax, it provides a banquet for fantasy lovers with large appetites.' Publishers Weekly

‘Colossal, staggering … Martin captures all the intoxicating complexity of the Wars of the Roses or Imperial Rome in his imaginary world … The writing is always powerful …' SFX

I find the further the story goes on, Roy Dotrice's voices when characters are speaking are in increasingly stronger Scottish accents. It's incredibly annoying. Not to mention how in the chapter The Soiled Knight, the sex noises he makes are just cringeworthy, not something that's believable or relatable.

The world building is obviously incredible, and I’m eager to see more of the stories continue from the first three. The new stories are slightly bitter to swallow and not the most interesting but maybe that’s the narrator.

Jesus Christ, the 1000 year old narrator must have had a stroke between the 3rd and 4th book. Did he forget all the accents ??? Arya is a lowborn Irish girl?? Did he forget how he pronounced previous names? This is a travesty, Audible need to redo these as soon as possible. These books are so popular but so many people can’t get through for the crap narration.

I wish I had the time to read the book myself. If you can, do that. If you’re stuck like me… good luck…

Trash and inconsistent narration

He was so good in the previous books, his accent made him one of my favourite characters. In this book he sounds like any other background character. Why did you have to do him like that?

What happened to my man dolorous Edd?

This was definitely made in a mad rush. No room tone, equal distance between takes (disallowing any emphasis lines are meant to have), and rustling of paper among other secondary sounds. It's enough to put up with but definitely a shock. Not an audiobook I'd recommend but if you can power through it the story is more than worth it! Just get ready to deal with all the changed pronunciations...

Great Story but Shoddy Production

Pronunciation was different for names and places, and all women’s voices sounded very off putting and wrong for the ages of the characters. Brilliant story overall.
