Not all guys obsess over tiny details…but Army Special Forces do.

The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right.

He would try harder.

With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick.

Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway. Next to it, held up by a knife, was a note. It was a warning - and he didn’t listen.

You’ll love being transported through time, to a future unlike anything we’ve imagined, where Alex’s fight to get back home becomes an epic struggle. This first book in the series will blow you away.

I have really enjoyed this series and will be sad to see it end. It's more fantasy than sci fi so be warned, the time travel element does crop up periodically through the series but is not the main feature. Enjoyable series with many likabl3 characters i could invest in. Better than some i could mention on audible but i won't. Pulp fantasy, action and adventure with some sci fi elements throughout the series.. the series really opens up as it goes and some nice world building. It reminded me of John Carter at times and the other lost at others, certainly elements of Verne and Wells, a modern take of course.

Fantastic series!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this but wasn't disappointed, the world Inmon created was great and I enjoyed the story arc and the way the world was built throughout the book.

McClain's performance was fantastic, great use of voices and very well delivered.

Good concept well executed.

I started to listen to this walking the dog as it was free and like some others have said found it a bit difficult to connect with at first however after sticking with it for a while I can honestly say this is a brilliant story. Having the mc meet another person from our time to help make some sense of where they are helped make the transition for me. It was great how the mc becomes part of the world and is pragmatic about his situation. I would recommend this to dyed in the wool sci fiers as well as people who just want a good story. The narrator McClain is excellent too - he doesn’t grate on your ears after listening for 11 hours! Have bought the second and will be looking forward to the rest of the series.

Worth persevering

loved this series both in kindle and audible. I was not sure if i would enjoy this after the Middle Falls series but i was sucked in from chapter 1 and had to read all of them.
