Fourteen-year-old reporter Devon MacDonald has a right to be paranoid. His last case nearly got him killed. But his reckless best friend, Zack, is addicted to the thrill, dragging a terrified Devon to Birchwood Cemetery at midnight. They don't find a story. They find a freshly dug grave—and the men who are digging it.
When a body surfaces by the local loch, the police arrest the new kid in town and his wealthy father, thanks to a perfectly planted shovel. Devon and Zack know the real killers are still free, but going to the cops is impossible.
They’re already being hunted.
Two ruthless men in a "London Movers" van are stalking their every move, and they've made their intentions chillingly clear: "I haven't gotten rid of those two kids yet." This isn't just a small-town murder; it's a conspiracy that stretches from London, and Devon and Zack are the only loose ends.
Trapped between a detective who won't listen and a pair of killers who won't stop, the boys are in a desperate race. Can they expose the truth before they are silenced for good, or will they be the next ones buried in a shallow grave?
