Tomorrow should have been Craig and Olya's first wedding anniversary together, but instead, they remain apart due to delays from the Home Office Visa Department.
They met over two years ago on a dating site, building a relationship filled with travel, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Craig proposed before Olya had to return to Russia due to illness in late 2024, and they married a year ago in Batumi, Georgia.
Their visa application was submitted in September 2025.
After months of waiting, they received a refusal based on a simple mathematical error reading Craig's bank statements—an error later confirmed by both Craig and his bank.
Now facing an appeal process that could take 12-18 months whilst Olya's city is getting bombed, their relationship is tested by distance, stress, and uncertainty.
The challenge to the Home Office has been taken as far as dare as the Home Secretary.
Happy anniversary, my darling.
I love you, Olya—always.
But apparently… 2+banana = No.
