Fabiano was raised to follow in his father’s footsteps as consigliere of the Chicago Outfit—until the man abandons him. Left to fend for himself, Fabiano is forced to fight for a place in the mafia world. As a ruthless street fighter, he quickly earns his place as the new enforcer of the Las Vegas Camorra—a man to fear.
Leona wants to build a decent life for herself, away from her drug-addicted mother. But soon, she catches the attention of a dangerous man, Fabiano Scuderi. Staying out of trouble and living a normal life are near-impossible with a man like him.
Leona knows she needs to avoid Fabiano, but men like him aren’t easy to shake off. They always get what they want. Fabiano cares about only one thing: the Camorra. But his attraction to Leona soon puts his unwavering loyalty to the test: Is Leona worth risking everything he’s fought for and ultimately his life?

Tropes: Forbidden romance- enforcer & normal girl
Review: I liked the story and would definitely reread it. I really liked how Fabiano and Leona connected over her being poor, not because of sympathy, but because he understood what she was going through. Leona did start to get on my nerves, though. I understand that she didn’t want to abandon her family, but her dad literally tried to sell her in exchange for his debt—come on, girl! I really liked Fabiano’s character and how his sister gave him their mother’s bracelet, which significantly influenced his character development. I absolutely loved how Cora wrote Fabiano’s loyalty slowly shifting from the mafia to Leona and how he protected her.
Spice: 3/5, a couple steamy scenes
Narration: 5/5, the performance was so good, I loved Lucy Rivers and Jacob Morgan.
Story 4/5, Spice 3/5, Performance 5/5

Ive read every single one of her writings but had to buy the audio format the second i saw it had released.
I listen to many audio books but this narrator isn’t a favourite of mine. I suppose we all have in our mind how they will sound and this narrator just doesn’t suit, in my opinion.
Im happy i read the books prior to listening to the audio, because it would of definitely changed my view on it all.
I carried on to the end though, because regardless, i frickin’ love this book.
Hopefully we can have a male narrator take on the male characters, for the next one.
Love this series
