This book is very enjoyable. The characters are well written and have depth to them. I love how resistant the leading lady is to begin with. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

The Exception was an enchanting tale of two people who had to learn to be vulnerable and trust again after fighting their demons from their past. Gemma a single mom of 3, had previously been in an extremely abusive relationship and Kristoff felt the ultimate betrayal by his ex wife and best friend. Don't let the length of the book hold you back - I loved how much of them building a relationship we got to experience and Kristoff's interactions with her girls and Gemma with his mom. This is wonderfully written and kept my interest throughout. Gemma was fierce and capable of handling things and I enjoyed that she was not taken with Kristoff because of his money and status. Kristoff totally won me over with how sweet he was with Gemma's daughters and included them, he not only fell hard for Gemma but also her daughters. I really loved how the relationships evolved with side characters in this book how there is some forgiveness and love that happened. A good mix of drama and spice I have really enjoyed this author's billionaire kings and look forward to listening to more!

Narrated in duet with Mackenzie Cartwright and Troy Duran - they both did well voicing the characters and bringing me more into the story.

Kristoff is relentless in his pursuit of Gemma and while his ways are questionable at best at times he has her and her daughters best interests at heart. I love how he loves her and how he so easily loves her kids, Wonderful story, Add to the TBR list for sure!

Amazing dual narration from Troy Duran and MacKenzie Cartwright

Kristoff is a boss and man who likes his own way. Controlling and demanding is the best way to describe him. Looking for an assistant for in and out of the office. Out of office they would be an assistant with benefits, who is generously compensated, for a no strings relationship. Gemma, a newly single mom of three girls, needing a jo, interviews for the position. Even though she is over qualified. Gemma is very surprised that she is asked to come back for a second interview. As she declined the job, after learning what was required, but Kristoff was not giving up on her and was willing to compromise and make an exception.
Both characters, are battling demons. Gemma has a secret that she does not want to come out because it may cost her children. We have drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy

Kristof and Genevieve’s story. Kristof makes an appearance in May books in the linked series so it’s nice to read his story, I did think it could have been shorter because there was a lot of repetition in the prose around the feelings towards the relationship and not a great deal of plot especially in the first quarter of the book/audio. The audio performances were brilliant. I really enjoy both Troy and MacKenzie as voice actors.
