When Ivan and Annalise McClain discovered their dream home in New Orleans, Louisiana, they could hardly believe their fortune. It was everything they'd ever dreamed of and the perfect place to start the large family they had always wanted. Despite being nearly two centuries old, the house had great bones, and even after numerous thorough inspections to verify the home's structural integrity, there were neither defects nor derogatory factors to be found anywhere inside Thibodaux Estate. After securing Annalise's long-time friend and college classmate, Tarah Simpson, to design and furnish the interior, they couldn't wait to see the results of her artistic transformation. However, a house more than two centuries old is bound to have secrets, and after Tarah undertakes the removal of a disturbing partition wall, those secrets begin to emerge.Tarah believes that every house has a destiny and that only those whose destinies align with a house are meant to live there. According to Tarah's mysterious rideshare driver, when it comes to Thibodaux Estate, no one was meant to live there, and he refuses to even leave his vehicle after dropping her off—not even to open the car door. Indeed, he will not even speak the name of the estate, claiming that "when you call something by its name, either on this side of reality or another, it tends to listen."Thibodaux Estate is listening, and soon it will reveal the secrets that have remained unburied within those ageless walls for generations.©2024 Riano D. Well as I sent to Rhiano - I have never read a book with such a 'thought' provoking last sentence!!
This book is a true mix or genres (which I won't spoil by discussing here.)
Ending aside - I love the books of Rhiano's that have a link running through them and I pounced on the Dolls and Mirrors connection in the first 2 books I listened to,
I still feel there is a magnum opus out there - waiting to link them all together.
Thanks again for an entertaining read.

The Ending :o)

The main story was gripping, developed well as it progressed and I did enjoy it, however, the graphic sex scenes aren't my cup of tea, and didnt add to the story in my opinion. As I listened to this in Audible it was just a case of skipping forward through them.

yes...but...
