I don't know what I was thinking when I hired someone to attack me. Maybe I was bored, or lonely, or there was a void so deep inside of me that I needed something explosive to fill it.

It was supposed to be safe. A thrill. A way to break through the monotony of everyday life. It was an illusion of danger that I could walk away from as soon as it was over.

Except that it wasn't. Because I had been in danger long before I ever invited it into my life.

My mission is almost complete. The bubbling boil of vengeance that heats my blood might finally simmer.

She is the last piece of the puzzle. Once I destroy her, everyone who ever hurt me will have paid their debt.

It was supposed to be quick and easy, but as soon as I met her it got complicated.

words fail me with this book... loved & hated it, too. it was raw & emotional, bittersweet & left me wanting more . an epilogue would have been nice. this isn't for the faint-hearted . check your triggers as some stuff in here was very difficult for me, and yes, they happened to the main characters. this story will stay with me for a while. gave it 4 stars because its beautifully written but I cant get past the sad and traumatising bits..

Redemption is my guilty pleasure, this book is perfect. Never dull, listen to it in one take.

Fast pace, never boring

Great story. Female narrator is good, male narrator is the worst overactor ever. Ruins the really meaningful scenes later on. Such a shame.

Male narrator almost ruins a great story

Started with an original idea,but soon after it took a nose dive. Reminds me of a fandom which discards all common sense and logic in favor or the plot. This ruined it for me.
Also,the male narrator,although clearly trying his best,sounded like a lunatic at places where he shouldn't.
Overall, it was all too much over the top for me.

The story is great. The male narrator is insufferable. He should never narrate another book in his life and should personally compensate every person who bought an audiobook with his narration, to atone for the cringe that he has inflicted onto the unsuspecting world. I recommend a future in puppetry.
