This was my first time stepping into a world created by Bree Jones, and she did NOT disappoint! Abducted Heart, book one in the Ashes and Graves Duet series, gave me everything I could have hoped for and more.

Rae is an AMAZINGLY BADASS, book-loving girl who we would ALL want in our spicy book club! She isn’t your typical meek FMC waiting for someone else to save the day. She’s strong, stubborn, can hold her own and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, which made me love her even more.

And then we have Asher… a hot, tattooed, morally grey MMC with a wicked sense of humour and a fear of connecting with anyone who might leave him. Well, Asher, you really didn’t see Rae coming, did you?! His bond with Ronan, his best friend and brother, was another highlight for me. Their friendship runs deep, and seeing that side of Asher made me love him even more.

From the moment these characters met, the chain of events that unfolded had me laughing SO HARD! I’m talking 3 AM, nearly falling out of bed because I needed “five more minutes” in their world.

HOW DARE THIS BOOK BE SO ENTERTAINING?!

The duet narration by Chelsea Clairmont and Dan Criswell was CHEF’S KISS! Their performances brought the characters, humour, tension and emotion to life, making it ridiculously easy to get lost in this story. My first time listening to these talented narrators, and I’m already impressed.

This book reminds me that sometimes the people who challenge us most are the ones who bring out the parts of ourselves we’ve been too afraid to show. Being strong doesn’t mean never needing anyone, and letting someone close doesn’t have to mean losing yourself. Rae brought her whole badass self into Asher’s world, and I loved every chaotic, hilarious second of it. Now, if anyone needs me, I’ll be over here desperately wanting MORE!

Bree Jones, you have my attention, and I am absolutely here to stay!
