The Wolf of Corwick Castle

Nine men ride into the tiny farming village of Corwick one morning in early March. When they ride back out again, no one is left alive except for Hadrack, a helpless eight-year-old boy. The crimes committed by those nine men will ultimately bring two conflicting religions and two nations to the brink of war.

A year has passed since the Piths captured the Gander garrison at Gasterny. A year in which an unexpected and unwanted truce has been declared between the two nations. For Hadrack of Corwick, now 18 and a scarred veteran of battle, the waiting has become intolerable. Caught between his need to fulfill his vow to his murdered family and his sworn oath to the man who freed him, Hadrack can only sit back in growing frustration as he waits impatiently for a war that will not come.

Civil war has come to Ganderland. Brutal, vicious, and bloody, with little end in sight as the twin princes, Tyrale and Tyden, vie for the right to rule the kingdom. Hadrack, the infamous outlaw of Corwick, has spent a year working to disrupt the north’s supply routes and economics, having to reluctantly set aside his vow of vengeance against the remaining members of the nine to do so. 

Eight months have passed since King Tyden’s coronation brought an end to the Pair War. Hadrack, now the Lord of Corwick, has spent those months searching unsuccessfully for the last two living members of the nine. But then a mysterious letter arrives in Corwick, with the author claiming to be one of the very men Hadrack seeks. Is it a trap, as Hadrack’s friends, Jebido and Baine insist, or does the writer of that letter truly seek penance for his many crimes? 

Seven years have passed since Lord Hadrack of Corwick defeated the last of the nine and fulfilled his vow to his murdered family. Now a father of four, Hadrack’s life has settled into a routine of ruling over his immense lands and swapping lies and tall tales with his two best friends, Baine and Jebido. But when riders arrive with a plea for help from an old friend, Hadrack finds himself drawn into a bloody war against a group of slavers called the Shadow Pirates and their leader, a monstrosity of a man known only as Captain Bear, who has sworn to kill the Wolf at all costs.
