Sergeant Davis had been in the US Marines for seven years when he stumbled into a knife fight outside the local bar. He ended up killing the wrong alien. Now, as a human who interfered with a galactic plot and killed a Confederation enforcer, his actions sentenced Earth to die. His only choice: desert the Corps and take the punishment on himself. It seems like the Roswell aliens have been helping us all along. While the conspiracy theorists were right, there are alien lizards wearing people suits.

A few short years ago William Tell Davis was a simple Marine Sergeant drinking bear in a local bar, he got in a fight and ended up having to leave Earth to prevent its destruction. Now, after the actions covered in The Deserter, General Davis and the Legion he created to protect the Earth from Aliens has to protect all biologic life in the Galaxy.

After destroying the supercomputer overloads that were enslaving humans and turning them into mind-controlled zombies, a worse enemy appeared. While seeking out allies in their battle of man versus machine, they caused the ancient enemy of the computer race to return to the Orion arm of the galaxy and claim Earth. After learning of the alien ability to destroy planets and teleport warriors on command, the elected leadership forsakes the legion and orders them to disband.
