Sorrow. Betrayal. Death by drowning. Those are the words of a dark and mysterious ancient curse that haunts the jaw-dropping sunken treasure known as the Queen’s Tiara. Everybody wants a piece of the riches from the past, but its location was lost years ago. Now, underwater photographer Fin Fleming has found the coordinates in an old ship’s log, and she’s willing to risk her life to retrieve the treasure. She puts together a team of scuba divers to seek the treasure and film the expedition for a documentary.

Fin Fleming is an accomplished scuba diver and chief underwater photographer at a famed oceanography institute on Grand Cayman. Her best friends disappear, and it doesn’t take long for the kidnapper to contact her with demands. Since the kidnapping occurred on the water, the police have asked for her help. She’d do anything to save her friends, so she dives right in to solve the mystery. But it’s not easy. There’s a killer shark in the area and someone is stealing scuba tanks from her dive shop.

Category 5 Hurricane Willard is barreling toward the Cayman Islands, but underwater photographer Fin Fleming has everything under control. Or so she thinks, at least until she must risk her life to move her brother Oliver’s boat to safety. After the storm, while assessing the boat for damage, she discovers a dead woman aboard, setting off a disturbing chain of events. It looks like an easy mystery, with Oliver as the presumed killer, but Fin knows Oliver would never commit this crime.

Cayman Islands-based oceanography institute RIO recently opened a new restaurant and tiki bar to give divers somewhere nearby to grab a snack and a drink. The place is a hit with the scuba diving crowd, and Fin and the team are basking in the glow of success. Until the morning they find an unknown young woman dead in the bar.

Cayman Islands-based underwater photographer Fin allows a film company to use RIO’s perfect facility as the setting for a big budget movie in exchange for hefty fees. Along with the movie, RIO is hosting an exhibition of real-life sea relics and ocean treasures featured in the picture. The most valuable exhibit, the twelve Anderson Sea Stars, is worth millions. A wily thief steals the set of solid gold starfish set with precious gems depicting the signs of the zodiac. But before the thief can get away, a ruthless killer whacks him but leaves the golden stars behind with the body.

Unsettled weather has caused life-threatening rip currents to sprout up seemingly at random in the usually tranquil sea around Grand Cayman. Despite posted warnings to stay out of the surf, several women lose their lives when caught in the turbulent waters. Fin attempts some dangerous rescues, and nearly loses her own life in the process. Fin and the team at RIO are still struggling to find more sources of funding for the Institute’s important research, and danger arises from an unexpected source while Fin and hot movie star Rafe Cummings are filming an upcoming documentary.

There’s already been one death by the time the authorities ask Fin to go undercover to investigate a company that is creating extensive environmental damage to the ocean, threatening an octopus nursery, a shark mating area, and the endangered green turtles, all causes dear to her heart. How can she say no? It’s not until she’s on site that she realizes she’ll have to work with Liam and the team from his environmental remediation company. Working together will be awkward, but Fin is determined to do everything she can to stop the damage.

Rafe is filming his next action adventure movie in Alaska, and Fin joins him. She arrives just in time to save his life when he's trapped alone while diving under the ice. Then while filming an ad for a movie tie-in product back in the Caymans, both Fin and Rafe suffer near miss attempts on their lives. Next, several of her friends go missing, and Fin realizes that past enemies have come back to target her friends and family. Can she track down the crime syndicate and save her friends, or will her efforts be too little, too late?
