『猿の手』は、1902年に「遊覧船の貴婦人」に発表された作品。
古い友人から譲り受けた干乾びた『猿の手』。魔力により願い事を３つ叶えてくれると言うのだが、古くから童話等で使われる3つの願い事をテーマにじわじわと迫り来る恐怖を描いたゴシックホラーの名作短編。
