Months after the fall of Liberia, Lieutenant Sunshine of the Kakata Korps Mercenary Company finds herself adrift in the galaxy. Gabriel Espinoza is dead, yet living in a world where he never sees those he loves and cares about. For Colonel Mulbah Luo and the Kakata Korps, their initial contracts with the Mercenary Guild had them defending Earth. Honest work, they were led to believe, keeping the citizens of Earth safe from alien pacification in their own way. As the occupation continues, however, their eyes are opened to the fact that the hand gripping their throat is slowly tightening.

Before Hr'ent Golramm became a legendary Enforcer for the Peacemaker Guild, he was a mere candidate. Granted, he was a particularly unusual candidate - only six Oogar had ever successfully graduated from the Peacemaker Academy on Ocono, and Hr'ent would be the seventh. Every candidate must pass a commissioning mission in order to graduate, though, and Hr'ent's is unsolvable. The Pushtal of Vorrhurna were once one of the Mercenary Guild's 37 races. 

Gabriel Espinoza’s loyalty had never been called into question, yet a dagger had been slid into his family’s back by outsiders. Gabriel has had his revenge, but it came at such a cost that it might be more than the Dominion can pay. He believes he has nothing left to fight for, save a child he cannot claim as his own.
