Enderman feels alone in his dark, cold world. He has heard stories of other enderman traveling to colorful worlds. They come back to share their stories of how the other world is beautiful. The endermen would come back home with blocks they have stolen from that world. Enderman starts to write in his journal speaking of how he is curious to see this colorful world with his own eyes. When he finally gains the courage to explore this new world, he decides to visit at night time.

Vid tolvtiden mitt på dagen gör sig Malin i ordning för att åka och hälsa på sin tolvårige son Tobias i Upplands Väsby. Hon lämnar familjehemmet i Almunge – några mil norr om Stockholm – där hon bor tillfälligt med sina två yngsta barn. Dag blev till kväll och kväll blev till natt men Malin kommer aldrig fram och får inte träffa sin son – trots att de befinner sig närmare varandra än man kan ana. Malin anmäls som försvunnen och en rad makabra händelser kommer att bli avslöjade.

Sedan hon flyttade in i sin nya lägenhet för två veckor sedan har värmeböljan legat som en våt filt över staden. Och det blev ännu värre när hon fick syn på sin heta granne. Hon har inte kunnat sluta dagdrömma om honom. En dag kommer hon på ett svepskäl för att kontakta honom. Hon bjuder upp honom till sin stekheta takterrass för att hjälpa till att skruva ihop hennes nya utemöbler. Och han hjälper så gärna till, för de vet båda två att hon vill ha hjälp med något helt annat.
