Med anden verdenskrig som baggrund skildrer Moltke de unikke stjernestunder, der udspillede sig på et bagtæppe af krig og krise, for på den måde at vende opmærksomheden - blot for en stund - bort fra krigens rædsler og i stedet fokusere på et par lyspunkter fra forfatterens egen fortid. Else Moltke (1888-1986), dansk forfatter.

"Min svanevinge" er historien om en kunstnerfamilies tilværelse på godt og ondt i perioden 1931-1941, men fortæller også om forfatterens møde med en række af periodens fremtrædende personligheder. Else Moltke (1888-1986), dansk forfatter. Else Moltke engagerede sig i kvinders vilkår og var sammen med forfatterkollegaen Thit Jensen med til at etablere Københavns kvindelige diskussionsklub i 1941. I sit forfattervirke var Moltke inspireret af det adelige ungdomsmiljø, som hun selv voksede op i, og Moltkeslægtens historiske betydning.
