In an overwhelmingly Lefty comedic landscape, right-leaning stand-up Geoff Norcott is a rare beast. In WMPT he gets to the heart of what ordinary people think about social and political issues. Whatever the contentious subject – he’ll be honest and blunt, but without being a dick. Mostly. Guests come from across the social and political divide, including, Romesh Ranganathan, Jonathan Pie, Katherine Ryan, Andrew Doyle, David Baddiel, Konstantin Kisin, Owen Jones and many more. Geoff has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Backstage with Katherine Ryan, Would I lie to You? Have I Got News For You? The Last Leg, Mash Report, Question Time, Mock the Week and pops up frequently on UK political debate programmes. Geoff's book 'Where Did I Go Right?' came out in 2021 and top the political comedy best-seller list on multiple occasions. Geoff also won an operational medal for his five tours performing to British troops in Afghanistan. • BREAKING NEWS - Lame Duck PM
    Jun 25 2026
This episode is coming round faster than usual, but then again so is politics! A fascinating PMQs where lame duck Kier seemed to want knockabout fun but Kemi hadn't quite got the memo and delivered some withering lines about his soon to be successor. I also look at Andy Burnham suddenly finding he needs to get his duck in a row very quickly and also ask if Nigel's getting ratty because he'd rather be back on the telly. • CURTAINS FOR TWO-YEAR KEIR - Feat. Simon Evans
    Jun 23 2026
Keir Starmer was good enough to announce his departure just moments before this record, so catch me and Simon Evans processing the news (even though it's been obvious for months). We discuss Keir's tear-jerker moment (Keir-jerker?) and evaluate his claim that it's all gone swimmingly. Then we move onto to discussing how Andy Burnham will any different and will he give Donald Trump a bowl of Scouse. In the Patron only the chat turns to Katie Hopkins being lobbed out of an East End pub by the tolerant Left. • BREAKING NEWS - Handy Andy Coming For Keir's Job
    Jun 19 2026
So Burnham did it and is coming for Keir's job... though not according to some of the strange people in Keir's bunker. Will Starmer sit tight or go gracefully? Also a good night for the Tories and a bad one for Reform (not something anyone has said in about five years). I also discuss why England fans are the funniest at the World Cup and why vegetarian food should cost much less. CATCH ME ON MY TOUR ‘Basic Bloke 2: There’s No Bloke Without Fire’. I have listend to Geoff since the start as I always appreciate different views and try balance my opinions. Geoff is clearly a very funny clever man who does not hide behind the comedy PC rules that others seem to. I always look forward to his podcast and make it a point to listen to him even thought I don't always agree with him. He makes the news and current issues fun and relatable in a way that helps me appreciate the views of others. keep it up!!

Geoff Norcott’s “What Most People Think “has been my number one podcast of choice since discovering it in the dark days of lockdown since when it has continued to give me a much-anticipated weekly shot of belly laughs. Suitable for anyone who enjoys intelligent witty debate regardless of political persuasion. He discusses a broad church of ideas along with consistently great guests. There are no sponsors to pander to other than Geoff himself, so it remains a standout platform for free speech, steered by Geoff’s respectful, reasonable, and always humorous style. I really enjoyed the episode with Phil Wang and most recently with James Haskell. He has also introduced me to new people and their podcasts like Matt Marney, Konstantin Kisin and Frances Forster. The New Year episodes are characterised by Mystic Geoff’s predictions, now in its fourth year, they have proven to be so reliably inaccurate that this year, Geoff thought he might as well ask a seven-year-old and introduced his son as cameo guest who proved to be heart-warmingly delightful, funny, and charming.

I love the wide span of subjects covered in this podcast; men’s mental health was illuminating and well done, and Matt Marney has guested on several episodes covering health and fitness. Going forward, I’m thinking a bit on nutrition might not be a bad thing, perhaps Dr Chris Van Tulleken would oblige as guest since he’s got a new book, “Ultra-Processed People” to push. With Geoff’s considerable workload, better nutrition could make him feel a lot less like “a bowl of fruit that’s on the turn”.  A Mueller corner scooped up with a key fob and a diet coke do nothing to mitigate the effects of his passion for Kentucky fried chicken. Look after yourself Geoff! – get some veg, vitamin D, ditch the Coke and take the weight off your carpel tunnel riddled wrists with some voice typing. But most of all, keep going; I can’t be the only one with a podcast addiction that needs feeding.
