    27 Oct 2026

This episode is so powerful, it moved me to tears. Thank you for sharing your heart, passion, and love to inspire the next legacy leader Brian. I am honored to preserve your story.

Except from the Episode: Valley View Article – Designer Brian G. Thornton

    WHEN LAS VEGAS BECAME HOME

I came to Las Vegas for three years.

This November, I will have been here for twenty.

That probably says as much about my Valley View as anything else.

I am an architect by training, an interior designer by evolution, and increasingly I describe myself simply as a designer—because after nearly five decades, I have learned that design is much larger than buildings.

I was born in Washington, D.C., into a military family and grew up largely in Hampton, Virginia. My father joined the faculty and administration at what was then Hampton Institute, and we lived across the street from the School of Architecture. As a child, I rode my bicycle through that building and stared at the models, renderings and drawings produced by architecture students. My mother was artistic and taught me perspective drawing. I still have the little yellow plastic ruler I used as a boy to make straight lines.

Architecture was never something I stumbled into. I knew.

  • S4E15 - Las Vegas Medical District Expansion
    20 Oct 2026

When I think about the future of Las Vegas, I think about more than the skyline.

I think about the families who are putting down roots here. The children growing up in our neighborhoods. The people who have spent decades building their lives in this valley. And the individuals who may be facing their hardest days while quietly hoping someone can help.

The expansion of the Las Vegas Medical District is part of a much bigger conversation about what kind of city we're becoming.

We can measure development in acres, buildings, and investment dollars. But we should also measure progress in access to care, healthier families, stronger support systems, and lives changed for the better.

  • S4E14 - Good Choice Pantry - Dignity for Our Neighbors
    11 Oct 2026

Thank you Executive Director Peggy Morache & Operations Manager Christopher Palkow for having me come volunteer at their amazing food pantry. Located at 120 S Pavilion Center Drive, LV, in the campus of the United Methodist Church.

However, if you listen to this model and mission, you'll see it's just another neighborhood grocery store, where anyone can come and get the meals they deserve to have.

The Good Choice Pantry was originally founded in 2020 as a response to COVID 19 and has evolved into a formal 501 C 3 - stable of almost 6 years for Summerlin. It gives everyone access to basic needs, that no one should have to make a sacrifice about. The cost of not taking a stand is going to ripple, so please I challenge you to make time.

How to get food if you need it:

Food Distribution Schedule - Walk In Only, served in numercial order. Chairs and cool courtyard available to wait in. Please do not arrive more than 30 minute prior to opening times!

Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10am – 1pm.

    Thursdays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.

Being able to provide dignity is key to helping anyone go through an unforeseen jobless or illness. As senior citizen costs continue to rise we see the dollar going less and less, so giving them access and support is essential to a caring and calm community.
