Curing Anxiety & Depression in the now, simply means to focus all our attention and intentions on what is happening in the here and now, in this hour right now, in the present.
Anxiety & Panic get their power over us when we focus on the unknown future.
Depression and Despair get their power over us when we focus on the past.
When we learn to focus all our intention and attention on the present moment in time, right now, here in this one hour, without bringing the fear of the unknown future or the despair of our past into this space, we can know peace of mind.'
The trick is to get busy right where you are. So, if you are stuck in your room, tell the voices in your head to 'feck off', to leave you alone for the next hour, and then jump into action.
Tidy your room. Open a window & let some fresh air in. Pick up your clothes off the floor. Make your bed. Change your clothes. Tidy your desk or dressing table.
know the voices in your head will be screaming at you to stop, ignore them, or tell them to 'feck off' again and again.
You can do this; you are the only person who can.
Have a hot shower with soap and water.
If thoughts of the past or the unknown future try to sneak their way back in, and they will, tell them to 'feck off' too.
This is about you staying present in the present.
In the beginning you might find all you can do, is to keep this new way of living to one hour at a time, that is perfectly ok.
I learned to claim 8 hours of peaceful sleep at nighttime by casting out the voices and my demons, telling them to leave the building and not to return until the morning.
Understand that a dream will not turn into a nightmare until you choose to invite the demons in.
So be conscious of your thoughts and feelings, and better to learn to meditate on prayer, to block out negative thoughts and feelings.
Try this for this one hour in front of you, now what do you have to lose?
Imagine this working, and by focusing on this one hour without any thought of the unknown future or the done with past, you can have peace of mind today, even if it's one hour at a time.
From being anxious and full of depression, surely being at peace for an hour, that would be a miracle.
I believe anxiety and depression are not mental disorders, but our God-given instincts to be trusted in every situation, and what we are dealing with is a broken spirit, a hole in our soul.
